Composed, precise and quietly commanding. These are not passive figures. They watch, hold, and protect.
“Water is the driving force of all Nature.”
In the Guardians Series, IBEX Master Philipp Weber reimagines the Norns — the weavers of fate. Between myth and modernity, five paintings stand as keepers of time.
A series of five hyperrealist paintings by Philipp Weber
Skuld, Norn of what’s to come. At the base of her scar glows the Seed; both destruction and renewal. Cloaked in red, Verdandi embodies the pulse of the present. The starburst scar radiates like the Sun: life, creation, light. Future and present meet. Renewal waits beneath the surface.
The blood is warm against my skin. I taste it in the air, feel it in the earth. I walk between the dead and the living — untouched. To know one’s fate is to know no fear. Blót is the moment when fear falls away, and only truth remains.
Three sisters;
Urd. Verdandi. Skuld.
Past. Present. Future.
Sentinel is the grand centerpiece. Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld command the canvas — real, mystical, and timeless. Sacred waters surge down upon them — the force that feeds the tree of life and keeps the universe in motion. Sentinel becomes a mirror, confronting the viewer with a glimpse of their own unfolding fate.
Urd and Verdandi move in an eternal dance where light and dark hold each other in fragile balance. Fate and time breathe in sync. In a vivid azure void, a silent pact forms — a Symbiosis binding past and present.
Skuld doesn’t accept the future; she shapes it. As Norn, she decides who transcends and who falls. Sacred waters thunder downward. Her wings spread wide. She is Protector. Creator. Warrior. True strength lies not in waiting for the moment — but in creating it.
the Sentinel watches; they weave.
Each figure carries a quiet force, standing at the edge of myth and modernity.
