Daydreaming

65 x 33 cm.

Description

By Arantzazu Martinez, Spain.

When we daydream, our mind is in a state of reception. It is open and available to receive ideas, concepts, and images. We observe the power of expression of the slight nuances of our bodies. Her eyes, open with a lost gaze, convey the sensation of mental movement. Her body appears relaxed. Her mouth is open as if she were breathing in, and her hands gently rest on her body.

In contrast with ‘Light,’ her hair falls due to gravity, which places the figure in everyday reality. The background of the painting, surrounding her entire head, appears complete and dynamic, and the same pattern forms a three-dimensional butterfly perched on her face. It is undoubtedly an image with much more emotional energy than in the painting “Light” since it speaks of a different moment of consciousness.
