Creatura 4 – Natalia

170 x 250 cm.

Description

By Philipp Weber, Germany.

Out of a green paint puddle rises model Natalia, her body covered in that same green paint. Her gaze is alert, if not aggressive; she looks like a predatory creature that rises from the primeval soup. Her unfiltered emotions radiate something animalistic.
The color green is associated initially with nature, regeneration, happiness, and positivity, but in this painting, the color might represent maliciousness and poison. With this, Philipp Weber questions the origins of all life. Where do we come from? What are we now?
Like the rest of his creature series, Philipp’s central question is whether our existence is tamed by culture and society or if the same animal instincts and needs still dominate us as with the first humans.
